Favourite places in Berlin – urban gardens, old airport and streetfood

I lived in Berlin for a year and since then visit it regularly, it’s a city full of ideas and projects. Mostly I love spending time outside in parks, gardens or going to flea markets. Whenenver I have time I visit these special places:

Klunkerkranich in Neukölln, in the middle of a busy street on top of a shopping center is this beautiful and quiet rooftop garden project with bar and café!

I love sitting near the water, so whenever I can I will drive by bicycle to the next channel or pond, ideally the Maybach Ufer riverside in Kreuzberg and watch the lights on the water. Don’t miss the amazing market there Tuesday and Friday.

The old airport area Tempelhofer Feld in Kreuzberg is so open and wide. The urban garden project there is peaceful and full of life.

I just cannot get enough of urban gardens! Prinzessinnengarten in Kreuzberg with its events, markets and café or Himmelbeet  garden in Wedding.

Something for a rainy day: An old market hall in Kreuzberg Markthalle Neun, weekly they have streetfood markets and outside is one of the best falafel shops.
